DetailsFirst brewed in 1952 as a bottled beer called Competition Ale. Changed name to Landlord in 1953, and also launched 4.3% abv cask version which went on to win CAMRA Supreme Champion four times. It pours a golden colour with a ruby sheen and a thick head. Aromas are fresh and hoppy, with crisp herbal notes and citrus. The palate has a rich, mouth-coating texture and immediately bitter flavours with a suggestion of leafy greens and dry, hoppy flavours. The finish is surprisingly biscuity.
