A collaboration brew between New York's Brooklyn Brewery, and Germany's G. Schneider & Son Brewery, Hopfenweisse is a robustly bittered, heavily dry-hopped pale Weizenbock. The Schneider-Brooklyner beer is the first in a two-part collaboration between the breweries. This beer is brewed in Germany, using locally grown Hallertauer Saphir hops. The second batch will be brewed in Brooklyn, using US hops instead of the German variety. Designed as a celebration of hops, the beer pours a deep, hazy gold, with orange highlights, has intense floral and citrus hop aromatics, a lingering hop bitterness, and doughy, white-bread sweetness (which is imparted by Schneider s traditional wheat ale yeast strain).
