Back Pallet Header

Unfortunately not all of our beers get consumed before they go past their best before dates - most beers hold up pretty well, since we store them with care, but they won't be tasting as good as they were when fresh from the brewery. So we discount them to move and put them on "The Back Pallet"

Kellerweis

SIERRA NEVADA Kellerweis Hefeweizen 355mL - 4.8% ABV | *Packaged 9/6/17*

Kellerweis is one of the only American Hefeweizens made using the traditional Bavarian style of open fermentation. This difficult and labour-intensive technique adds uncommon depth and flavour complexity. With an uncommon depth and flavour complexity, this hazy-golden hefeweizen is deeply flavourful, refreshing, and perfect for a sunny day. Matches up with an Italian tomato based pasta or mildly flavoured sausages such as weisswurst, bockwurst and bratwurst.

Founders Curmudgeon

FOUNDERS Curmudgeon Old Ale 355mL - 9.8% ABV | *2014 Vintage*

This Old Ale conjures up thoughts of classic seafaring ports, their local pubs and the weathered fisherman that frequent them. In traditional style Curmudgeon is brewed with an intense focus on the malt bill creating a very strong, rich, malty characteristic and a sweetness indicative of its cousin the barleywine. We are especially proud of the balance in this beer making it deceptively smooth and drinkable at 9.8% alcohol by volume.

Young's double choc

YOUNG'S Double Chocolate Stout 330mL - 6.2% ABV | *Best before 31/7/18*

The first stout to be made with added chocolate, not once but twice! First created in 1997 this is a dark, ruby coloured stout that is almost black from a distance. A distinctive chocolate flavour with a smooth and velvety finish. Melted chocolate bars are added to the boil and the essence is added after filtration. The combination of chocolate and beer is surprisingly easy to drink.

Theakston Logo

THEAKSTON Old Peculier 500mL - 5.6% ABV - 32 IBU | *Best before - 31/8/18*

Old Peculier is possibly one of the country’s most well-known and loved ales. This unique, beautiful brew is often imitated but never matched and is sold literally all over the world. In the early years of the modern brewing era, about two hundred years ago, many brewers produced a dark, strong ‘stock’ beer in the winter months, to provide a base amount of fermented beer to add to beers brewed in the rather more volatile months of the summer. Old Peculier probably owes its origins to this. The name pays tribute to the unique ecclesiastical status of Masham as a ‘Court of the Peculier’ and is also reference to the strong characteristic of the beer! For many years it was affectionately referred to as Yorkshire’s ‘Lunatic’s Broth’.

Elvis Juice BREWDOG Elvis Juice Grapefruit IPA 330mL CAN - 6.5% ABV | *Packaged - 23/5/17*

Heretic Tartuffe

 HERETIC Tartuffe Berliner Weisse 650mL - 4.8% ABV - 10 IBU | *Packaged - 3/3/17*

A tartuffe (tar-TOOF) is a hypocrite who feigns religious virtue. Heretic’s Tartuffe is our take on a Berliner Weisse-style ale. Our head brewer has a thing for this beer style. He loves the tart, refreshing character that comes from using lots of wheat malt and a multi-day sour mash. Try it by itself or mit schuss, the traditional German addition of raspberry or woodruff syrup. Either way, enjoying life is a true virtue.
