Brasserie Du Bocq has been a family owned Belgian brewery for more than 150 years and brews a wide range of Belgian style beers including the well known "La Gauloise", "St Benoit" and "Saison Regal".
Saison Regal is a unique and relatively rare Belgian style called a Saison. This style is characterized by a clear amber copper colour with large fine, dense tan-yellow head produced by a high degree of carbonation. The hop base with fruity touch comes through in the aroma and flavour. This beer also has a well pronounced bitterness and is much appreciated for its thirst-quenching and lightness.
Saison Regal pairs well with pasta and pizzas, spiced meals, strong cheeses and is ideal at barbecues.
Tasting Notes:
Pour a hazy honey amber colour with small, large bubbled quick dissipating light tan head. Big fresh fruity burst on first pour overtaken by hoppy bitter, slight candy malt and vegetable yeast aromas. My sample was lowly carbonated with a medium body. Big malty bitter and yeasty flavoured start. Soft bitter middle and aftertaste.

Oat into a snifter, allow its thick tan head to slowly rise, releasing unbridled aromas. The color of Oat is as dark as a moonless night. The first sip reveals Oat’s thick and nourishing taste. Like a haversack to a horse, a bottle of this stout is a meal in itself.
