This is BOCQ's take on a traditional bottle-conditioned dark abbey beer, pouring a deep ruby colour, with a nice beige head, and offering an aroma that is sweetish but also bracingly sharp and fruity, with strong hints of earthy hops. The palate has plenty of fine, full, roasty malt, with an initial treacle sweetness that's soon lifted by herbal tang and coffee notes.
